Because it’s the most efficient HVAC system on the market today! On top of that, it’s good for the environment!
Read what Focus on Energy has to say about geothermal (ground source heat pumps) for homes, schools and businesses in Wisconsin.
Geothermal technology has been around for a long time. It uses the ground as a heat source in winter and as a heat sink in the summer.
This “ground source” heating and cooling uses a geothermal heat pump, a highly efficient renewable energy technology that takes advantage of the near-constant temperature of the earth beneath the surface.
The heat pump transfers heat stored in the ground or in groundwater into a building during the winter. It transfers it out of the building and back into the ground during the summer. This allows for space heating and cooling and for hot water.
