If you’ve been thinking about geothermal and doing your research, you may have landed on a few online forums in which visitors ask: Is geothermal worth it?
The answers you often see are: Get some concrete facts and figures. Don’t just listen to a sales pitch about how many trees are saved!
They’re right. That’s why we at Advanced Custom Geothermal are more than happy to provide you with the hard data. An accurate analysis of your expected cost savings must be based on true – not inflated or padded – utility rates and on BTU (British Thermal Unit) losses and gains.
That’s true whether you are comparing one geothermal installation estimate to another or geothermal to another heat source. You must compare apples to apples. The best way to compare is the cost per 100,000 BTU’s of heat and the efficiency of the furnace unit.
We’ve seen analyses made by less-than-credible contractors. They show unobtainable savings based on false inputs into their computer modeling program. These people are just trying to get the sale. Some don’t care about the end result and the others just don’t know any better. Either way, you, the consumer, is not getting what you expect or deserve.
That’s why we encourage you to ask us for the data. We’ve got actual numbers from our own geothermal use in our homes and from our commercial use at our shop and office. We have information provided by our many clients. Just ask.
